Athens———Linos Gavriel the FIBA Euro Cup Coach of AEK Larnaca will manage Greek-Cypriot Connect that will compete in the quarter-final tournament in Las Vegas. Linos will use the event to evaluate ten (10) free agent imports of his choice over a (4) day period. The event format is similar to the NBA Summer League.

Linos is looking to sign a few American imports for the upcoming season and provide scouting to other close associates in the Greek/Cyprus basketball region. The Cypriot league is allowed (5) American imports per team

Linos Gavriel is one of the top coaches in the Cyprus and Greek basketball regions. In the 2016-17 season he led AEK Larnaca to the Cyprus Cup Championship and to the Top 32 of the FIBA Europe Cup. AEK Larnaca almost completed the triple in the Cyprus league in the 2016-17 season. During Linos Gavriel coaching career he has led the Tunisian powerhouse Étoile Sportive du Sahel to the FIBA African Cup Championship and participated in the FIBA Europe Cup several times other teams. Linos has experience coaching many former NBA players and high-level European players with Olympic and National team resumes. Linos is the former Assistant Coach of the Cyprus National Team and is the only Greek/Cypriot coach that has won over (11) European titles in two different continents. He has worked with some of the top Euroleague players and coaches in the industry

Recruiting and Exposure
The GBSL Las Vegas event provides a very effective recruiting opportunity for Linos Gavriel to evaluate quality imports over a four day period in a professional environment. The event features NBA referees, 40 minute regulation games, NBA rules & 24 second shot clock, scheduled practices, internet & televised games with play by play broadcasting and high-level pro competition.

Greek-Cypriot Connect Summer League Team
Players and agents that are interested in securing a spot on Greek-Cypriot Connect Summer League team should contact the Global Basketball Summer League immediately. All participants are required to register on the GBSL site for consideration. If an applicant is selected by the club they will be required to pay the GBSL registration fee.
Only high-level prospects that played in the 2016-17 season at a NCAA Division 1 program, 2016-17 Small College All Americans or professional experienced players will be considered. There will be other professional teams evaluating talent at the GBSL combined with hundreds of other international scouts and agents attending the event.
